Paper Crafts From Me to You
Hey everyone, it’s Donaville and it’s been a long while since my last (which was also my only) post on Little Miss Heirlooms. Life has been crazy awesome and crazy busy my little ones are getting crazier and crazier by the day.
A couple months ago, I embarked on a new blog venture. It was actually an expansion upon an original tumblr blog entitled Paper Finds that I created over a year ago while I was on pregnant with my twins during my maternity leave. Paper Finds initially began as a place where I showcased unique paper creations of every variety. If I happened upon a lovely and unique paper flower, it went up on Paper Finds. I had no idea it would take off so well, at least in the Twitter Universe, and in late April of this year I took the blog off of tumblr and moved it into a somewhat newer direction.
I slapped on a new name: Discover Paper. It’s now a blog that’s not only dedicated to finding paper creations, but it’s also a blog wherein I challenge myself to create something with paper and share it as well.
This month I am taking part in a creative initiative/challenge called 30 Days of Creativity. So far, it has been very rewarding and somewhat challenging because I aimed only to construct things out of paper.
Check out some of my paper creations:
- Day 1: Easy origami bird (folding instructions via Origami Fun)
- Day 2: Elegant tags
- Day 3: Paper airplane flower
- Day 4: Butterfly
- Day 5: Cupcake liner decor
- Day 6: Pinwheels on pinwheels
- Day 7: Sailboats at sea
- Day 8: Another take on “pop art”
If you’re itching to get crafty this Summer, I encourage you to try out a few of these crafts with your kids. They’re quick, easy, and oh so enjoyable!
Oliver + S

I just received this book, Oliver + S – Little Things To Sew. It really is one of the sweetest tutorial books I’ve seen. It is well written and easy to follow and the pictures are so amazingly cute (see below). Each tutorial has a scale of difficulty indicated by some scissors so you can pick which ones you want to attempt. One of my favorite tutorials is the Explorer vest. My boys would love it and it would be great to put things like a magnifying glass in a pocket for our “exploring walks” aka, mom needs to start walking again and have to take you with me.
This is a great book to check out!
