yesteryear
Now, it’s hard to get mad at that little cutie right there in the photo but lately (especially during Chrsitmas break- while I thought I was doing a excellent job at taking them fun places …) both my boys complain they are board at EVERYTHING.
I swear, we are driving down to the coast to see the seals that are all having babies and are on the beach-right there in front of them (hello in the middle of winter- what do they have to complain about???) and they say, I’m board (trust me I rather hear “Are we there yet” a million times more than “Im board!”).
We go to the famous San Diego Zoo and you hear, Im board….I can kinda sympathize with them on this one….how fun is it to watch the gorillas sit with his hairy back at you?
BUT people!!! I’ve just noticed this with the new generation. Kids just don’t really know how to entertain themselves….at least the ones I’ve seen??? It must be all the video games and face paced tv shows?
So lately I have been taking in all the tales my wonderful grandpa tells us about the time where there wasn’t all that junk aka video games and kids actually played outside, appreciated imagining things and were excited for that one special hour program they maybe got to listen to once a week.
My grandpa was telling us yesterday about began so excited to be able to listen to the “Lone Ranger,” “Little Orphan Annie” and my favorite “Baby Snooks.” He even told us exactly how they would introduce each show!
Christian and Carter both got super excited so I decided to get them the shows on cd! How fun with this be? I highly recommend you looking into getting your kids some stories on tape! Im hoping it will open my kiddos mind to a playtime full of Indians, Detectives and all that old fashioned stuff! ;)
More from the Big Apple
I thought that this was really cool! Bobo Choses put on their wall a thank you to everyone that has featured them including Babiekins! :)

I wont bother posting much on Playtime this just cause so many other bloggers have and it gets a bit boring seeing it all over but here are 2 fun pics of our time in NYC. This man below just stands outside of the subway with a sign that says “your smile is beautiful” and had a really fun outfit on. I couldnt help but give him a couple dollars and take a picture with him and my friend Jessie! :) ahaha.

East Of Home Vintage
There are so many reasons to dress your kids in Vintage, you only have one childhood so why hide in a sea of bland..?! I have decided to set up a simple little store, where I can sell some of my vintage collection + the pieces that no longer fit my own kid’s. (I ship worldwide).Have a look at EOH Vintage Here
Hawaii Day 2

Yesterday we went to a beach that was about 30 min away from my sisters house. We had to walk from the parking lot to the beach which was a couple miles but we had fun looking at all the shops! Christian loved the Ferrari shop and it was hard to tell him to stop for picture cause he wanted to crawl all over the cars.
Carter fell asleep in the car on the way to the beach an didn’t wake up till about 20 min after my sisterand her family had already been swimming. He hasn’t done that since he was a baby!
This guy is a “performer” on the street that sits perfectly still until you give him some money and then he “busts” a move! Um probably the dumbest 2 bucks Ive ever spent but the boys liked it.
Hawaii Day 1
I had my laptop in one hand and my 25 pound carry on in the other and tried to hold on to Carter who was half way crying while holding his Paul Frank Shorts and saying “my butt hurts.” I gave Christian the duty of holding our flight snacks ( you know how airplane food is – yuck) and was frantically holding Carters “my butt hurts” hands and looking at Christian making sure he didn’t drop our food.
We got to the terminal and soon got on the plane. I just hoped that I wasn’t the only person with little kids on the plane! We sat down, tried to get comfortable and tried to distract Christian from “I’m board” aka give me the ds and Carter from wanting to sit and “try” every seat on the plane.
The boys did pretty good for the most part but into about 3 hours of the 5 and half hour trip they both got super restless. Carter started walking and talking to every other passangers, taking his camera and telling everyone to “Smile.” He was cute and everyone enjoyed him.
The highlight of the trip was how powerful the “flush” of the airplane toilet was. I think the first time it actually scared Carter but after that he wanted to “go potty” about 5 times.
After trying to entertain the boys for 5 hours I was ready to kiss the Hawaiian floor. I was so happy to land and get ready to have fun with them but first I was super excited about getting to my sisters house and taking a nap!
We even went to the beach today! :) Here are some pics from today.
Pictures: Carter telling the passangers to say “cheese” on the plane. Wearing Mini Rodini Hot Hog Top. Christian and his ds wearing Finger in the Nose Jacket and Kico Kids Top. Boys playing on the beach with cousin Conner in thebackground.
